Responsibility details are not available.
A set of workable tracks in 1:35 scale, part number RM-5044. This is not a kit of a tank but a replacement for the tracks on a model already built or under way. The manufacturer intends it for Shermans with VVSS suspension — that is, with the older sprung system and narrow tracks, which was only replaced by the later HVSS suspension. The links are assembled one at a time and hold together movably, so the run can be settled over the wheels with a true sag.
The Type 62 is an all-steel track: a steel chevron pattern sits on riveted links, with no rubber pad. Compared with smooth rubber tracks it is markedly coarser and can be told apart at a glance in photographs. It was carried mainly by Shermans in British and Allied service. Steel stood up to stones better, but it wore out faster and was noisy.
Clean the links of sprue remains first and use as little glue as possible, so the run stays workable. Assemble the track dry in longer sections and settle it onto the suspension once it holds its shape. Give it a base coat before painting, then dark steel or rust, and finally work graphite over the contact faces. The manufacturer also makes tracks of other types and tracks for HVSS suspension — compare the pattern with a photograph of the machine you are building.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
