Flexible painting masks for painting the road wheels of the M24 Chaffee light tank in 1:35 scale, cut for Tamiya kits as the box states. This is not a kit nor a set of replacement wheels — during spraying the masks separate the rubber tire from the metal disc, so the tires do not have to be touched in with a brush.
The wheels are sprayed in a rubber shade, then placed into the recesses of the mask and the edges pressed down with a blunt stick so that the mask seats. It must not be stretched. Only then does the vehicle color go onto the discs. Once removed, the masks can be washed and used several times, which pays off on a build with a full set of road wheels and rollers.
The M24 Chaffee was an American light tank from the end of the Second World War, armed with a 75 mm gun and designed as a replacement for the older M3 and M5 Stuart. Unlike most American equipment of the period it rode on torsion bar suspension. Its road wheels had rubber tires, so they are painted in two shades and it is precisely the boundary between them that is the most laborious part of the model.
QuickWheel cuts its masks for a specific kit, so check which one you are building before you buy. This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
