A ladder leaning against a wall or against a cargo bed is one of the best ways to give a scene height and at the same time suggest action. The viewer's eye runs up it by itself and starts looking for where it leads. The set is laser-cut from wood, so both the rungs and the side rails have real wood grain and do not look like plastic once painted. It is not a kit but an accessory for a scene.
According to the manufacturer the package contains a laser-cut wooden sheet. Paints, glue and hardware are not included. The parts are broken out of the sheet and assembled.
Break the parts out carefully and cut the tabs through with a sharp scalpel, so that a rung does not chip off. Glue them with PVA wood glue and let the assembly dry on a flat surface, ideally held down with masking tape. Do not paint the wood over solidly: a thin glaze or a stain lets the grain show through and the result is more convincing. An old ladder has worn rungs in the middle and grayed wood, so add lighter wear with a dry brush exactly where people step.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
