The VII-C version was the most numerous variant of the Type VII series and its outline is among the best known of any submarine. The model is built as a full-hull. Check the exact contents of the box against the manufacturer's data.
The Type VII-C was the workhorse of the German submarine fleet in the Battle of the Atlantic: between 1940 and 1945 several hundred of these boats entered service. It was a diesel-electric attack submarine of medium size, an improved variant of the earlier VII-B with revised internal systems. It was the VII-C that became the symbol of the German submarine war and it appears in the vast majority of period footage and films about U-boats.
Glue the halves of the hull with liquid cement for plastic and sand the seam on the smooth flank carefully. Glue the photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Choose the type of conning tower according to the boat you are portraying and decide between a full hull on a stand and a waterline. Paint the underside with anti-fouling paint and the rest in the gray shades of the Kriegsmarine. Add the deck gun, the periscopes and the fine deck detail at the end, and even out the surface with a flat varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
