Bronco Alexander Nevsky, a Borei class submarine is a plastic kit of a Russian ballistic missile submarine in 1:350 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of a Russian Borei class nuclear ballistic missile submarine in 1:350 scale from Bronco. The model represents the particular boat Alexander Nevsky, designation K-550, the second ship of the whole class. It is a modern subject that is not common in the modeling range.
The Borei class is a Russian nuclear submarine with ballistic missiles, designed as a successor to the older classes of the Soviet period. It has a faired hull with a smooth surface and no superstructures, pump-jet propulsion instead of a conventional propeller, and it carries ballistic missiles in vertical tubes behind the sail. The Alexander Nevsky entered service in the second half of the first decade of this century and serves with the Russian Pacific Fleet. The whole class forms the core of the Russian naval strategic forces.
The hull of a submarine is smooth and has no superstructures, so every blemish and every seam is conspicuous: once it is glued, fill and sand back the lengthwise seam and spray the surface with filler primer, then check it under a side light. Do not paint the black hull in pure black, a very dark gray suits it better and the shape remains visible at all. Pick out the horizontal surfaces with a fine wash. If you put the model on a stand, bear in mind that the long hull needs two supports.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, a stand and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
