A set of three propellers for German battleships and battlecruisers in 1:350 scale from Spalah. A resin accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a model, not a ship kit: a set of propellers for the Bismarck, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau and Tirpitz in 1:350 scale. The box states three pieces, which matches the three shafts of these vessels. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints its parts from photopolymer resin and supplies them with print supports. With a propeller what counts is the shape and thickness of the blades, and that is exactly where a plastic part from a kit is bound to be coarser.
The Bismarck and her sister Tirpitz had three shafts with three-bladed propellers, not four as was the custom on some foreign battleships. That arrangement affected the handling of the ship, because without outboard propellers at the sides a ship is hard to control if the rudder is damaged. The propellers are visible on a model only with a full hull, but then very prominently.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the propellers separately. A bronze shade comes out well when laid over a dark base and then carefully pulled across with a dry brush; deposits on the blades can be suggested with a dark wash and a greenish tone.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
