Turned barrel of the American 37 mm M6 gun in 1:48 scale from Aber. A metal replacement for the plastic barrel on the M8 Greyhound armored car and American tanks of the M3 family.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal barrel in 1:48 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It replaces the plastic barrel of the American 37 mm M6 gun on models of the M8 Greyhound armored car and the M3, M3A1, M3A3 and M3A4 Lee tanks. It is not a vehicle model but a detail accessory.
The 37 mm M6 gun was the standard American tank armament of the first half of the Second World War. It was carried by the M3 family of light tanks, in the turret of the M3 Lee medium tanks and also by the M8 Greyhound wheeled reconnaissance armored car. The thin, long barrel with its hollow muzzle is one of the most conspicuous details on a model in 1:48 scale, and in injection-molded plastic it usually bows or carries a visible parting line.
Cut the plastic barrel off at the mantlet, true the pin with a file and check the axis dry. Degrease the metal, scuff it lightly and bond it with super glue. Once painted, bring out the hollow muzzle with a dark shade. Apply a metal primer before painting, because ordinary paint holds poorly on a smooth turned surface. It is a good idea to fit the barrel at the end of the build, so that it is not bent during the remaining work.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
