3D interior decal for the Phantom FG.1, small version, 1:48 A reduced form of the printed 3D interior decal with resin parts for Hasegawa Phantom kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D interior decal for building the British Phantom in the FG.1 version in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Quinta Studio, in a reduced form supplemented with printed resin parts. The reduced version holds a smaller range of parts than the full set, which the manufacturer offers under a separate number. The box states Phantoms from Hasegawa as the target kits.
The British Phantoms were a special offshoot of this American type. In place of the original engines they received British Spey jet engines, which were bulkier, so the rear fuselage and the air intakes had to be widened, and the aircraft therefore look different at first glance from the American machines. The version for the Royal Navy had an extensible nose gear leg because of launches from the short British decks, while the version for the Royal Air Force served for attack and reconnaissance.
3D decals are not applied like an ordinary decal. Paint the surface in the cockpit first and give it a gloss clear coat, because the decal will not seat on a matte surface. Dip the part briefly in warm water, release it from the paper and seat it in place; the makers recommend helping it along with white PVA glue. Then press the shape down carefully with a cotton swab so that the relief follows the base, and let it dry thoroughly. Do not use solvent-based decal softeners, as they can attack the surface.
This is an add-on for a model, not a kit. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
