German Second World War gear and grenades in 1:48 scale

This item is an accessory set of small gear for modelers, not a kit. It contains castings of items of gear and of hand grenades of the German army from the Second World War in 1:48 scale. It serves to equip figures and to fill empty areas on vehicle models and in dioramas — that is for the same purpose as castings of boxes, pouches or field gear.

Working with resin and painting

Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a scalpel and level the faces with fine wet-and-dry paper. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Start the painting with a primer, continue with the overall shade and bring out the detail with a dark wash in the folds and a dry brush along the edges. The metal parts come to life nicely with a dark steel paint and a hint of wear.

For builders of figures, vehicles and dioramas in 1:48 scale who want the small equipment of a scene to be believable and consistent. The work calls for tweezers and a sharp tool, but finishing it is quick.
