A LööKplus set for the Handley Page Hampden TB Mk.I in 1:48 scale for the ICM kit. A colored instrument panel and steel seat belts for the torpedo version of the bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set from the LööKplus range for the British Handley Page Hampden in the TB Mk.I torpedo version, 1:48 scale. It is a cockpit accessory, not an airplane kit. The basis is a colored resin instrument panel and photo-etched steel seat belts, and the plus in the designation means an extension with further printed parts. The manufacturer has designated the set for the ICM kit.
When it turned out that the Hampden was not up to night raids over Germany, the machines were given a new task. The TB Mk.I version carried a torpedo under the fuselage and served with Coastal Command for attacks on shipping targets in the North Sea and off the Norwegian coast. Some of the aircraft reached Soviet naval aviation as well. The narrow fuselage and the extensive glazing stayed the same as on the bomber version, so here too the cockpit is clearly visible.
Try the parts dry while the fuselage is open. Glue the resin with super glue, bend the steel belts over the edge of a ruler and tune them with tweezers. Protect the colored panel with a thin coat of matte varnish only; a heavier coat floods the rendered dial faces and the effect is lost.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The ICM kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
