MiG-15 airbrakes PRINT 1:48 (Eduard) is a set of 3D-printed airbrakes for the MiG-15 kit, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set of airbrakes in 1:48 scale, made by direct 3D printing. This is not an airplane model but a replacement for the plastic parts in the MiG-15 kit from Eduard. The printed parts allow what injection-molded plastic takes only with difficulty: a genuinely thin brake panel, a drawn-out inner face and the well the brake fits into when closed. The model gains the detail that is visible precisely when the brakes are built deployed.
The airbrakes of the MiG-15 sit on the sides of the rear fuselage and served the pilot for slowing down quickly, for instance before touchdown or in a turning fight. On the first machines they had a roughly triangular shape; the later bis version was given brakes of a different shape and markedly larger. This set is prepared for the basic MiG-15, and for the bis version Eduard issues a separate variant.
Separate the parts from the print supports with a sharp blade, level the support pads with a fine file and glue them with super glue. Do not breathe the dust when sanding and keep the room ventilated. Fit deployed brakes at the very end of the build, after the fuselage has been sprayed and clear coated, or they easily break off or get clogged with paint.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not contain an airplane model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
