The MiG-15 undercarriage legs PRINT set replaces the plastic landing gear legs of the Soviet MiG-15 fighter in 1:48 scale with parts from direct 3D printing. Printing manages thin struts, sharp edges on the locks and fine plumbing, which in injection-molded plastic have to be simplified because of the mold. It is a detail accessory, not an airplane model.
The landing gear carries the whole weight of the finished model and is at the same time the place a viewer's eye slides to right after the cockpit. The printed legs have a more faithful cross-section, finer rods and a more cleanly rendered wheel mounting. On a model with the gear retracted the set has no use; it shows in full on a machine built on the apron.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry out. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel close to the carrier frame and clean the cut up with a fine-grit file; do the sanding with respiratory protection. They are glued with super glue, and for a joint with plastic reach for the gel kind, which gives you time to set the part in place. Spray the landing gear bays and the legs before gluing, as they are hard to reach later.
This is an accessory, not an airplane model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
