For this box the manufacturer states optional parts for both the PD and the PDS version, a radar under a hinged nose cover and decals for machines of several operators. The MiG-25 was the answer to reconnaissance and bomber aircraft flying high and fast. Its welded steel structure withstood temperatures that would have destroyed an aluminum airframe, and a pair of powerful engines allowed speeds of more than twice the speed of sound. The PD version received a new radar, a search and track system and the ability to engage targets below itself, which was exactly what the original interceptor lacked. Older aircraft of the P version went through the same modification in the repair shops and then carried the designation PDS.
The cockpit of this type is deep and clearly visible on the finished model, so finish it before closing the fuselage. According to the manufacturer the radar cover can be built hinged open, so it pays to think about what will be visible inside. Add ballast before gluing the nose section together. Break up the light gray finish with shade differences between panels so that the large areas do not look flat, and keep the weathering at the level of a well-maintained aircraft.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
