The manufacturer states neither the number of parts nor the number of marking options. The build has one peculiarity: the aircraft has no cockpit, so the work concentrates on the surface, the landing gear and the stores.
The MQ-9 Reaper is an unmanned vehicle for reconnaissance and attack that grew out of the smaller MQ-1 Predator. It has a turboprop engine with a pusher propeller at the tail, a long narrow wing and an inverted-V tail; it stays in the air for long hours and carries a sensor turret under the nose along with armament on its stores stations. A crew flies it from the ground, often from another continent, and it is exactly this combination of endurance and precision that changed the shape of present-day conflicts. The GBU-12 is a laser-guided bomb the machine uses against ground targets.
The long, thin wing needs a firm seating; dry fit it and check for the same dihedral on both sides. The landing gear on the Reaper is tall, so think about whether you will put the model on its gear or on a stand. The surface tends to be uniformly light and flat: after the base color put only a very fine wash into the lines and avoid pronounced wear, because these machines are usually clean. Finish the sensor turret and the lenses with gloss varnish.
