A decal set in 1:48 scale for the early Allison-engined Mustangs: the P-51A fighter and the A-36A attack version. It is not a kit but an accessory, the markings for a model you already have built.
The P-51A was the last Mustang with the Allison V12 engine. At low altitude it performed excellently, high up it lost power, and so it found its use mainly in the attack and reconnaissance roles. The A-36A was its dive-bombing variant with dive brakes and underwing pylons. Over Burma and India these machines were among the hardest-working aircraft of the whole theater: they flew low, they flew long and they flew against well-defended targets.
Work over a gloss clear coat so that no silvering forms under the decal. Release the decal in warm water, slide it onto a wet surface and press it down with damp cotton wool. A decal softener will help settle the markings into the engraved panel lines. Seal the finished work with a matte or satin varnish.
The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
