The injection-molded plastic kit Special Hobby 1:72 B-12A Bomber, Yellow Wings over America, the American pre-war twin-engine bomber in colorful period markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American pre-war Martin B-12A twin-engine bomber in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Special Hobby. The short-run Yellow Wings over America edition brings decals for the colorful blue and yellow interwar finishes of the US Army Air Corps and clear parts for the glazing.
The B-12A was an improved version of the groundbreaking all-metal Martin B-10 monoplane, one of the first modern bombers of the US Army of the 1930s. It was powered by two radial engines and for its day it excelled in both speed and performance. In the era of the so-called yellow wings the machines carried striking unit color markings, which makes them a rewarding subject.
Finish and paint the interior and the gunner positions before closing the fuselage. Mask the extensive glazing of the cockpit and the turret. The striking yellow wings and the color markings spray best with an airbrush over a light base; apply a gloss clear coat under the decals. Fit the engines and the landing gear at the end and take care over the fine sprue attachments of the short-run tooling.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
