The 1:87 scale corresponds to the H0 model railway and the manufacturer is the German company Revell. The Model Set edition means that besides the sprues with the parts, the decals and the instructions you also get basic paints, a brush and glue in the package; the kind of paints is stated on the box.
The S 3/6 was the pride of the Royal Bavarian State Railways. These express engines with the Pacific wheel arrangement were built by the Munich firm Maffei from 1908 and were still being delivered in further batches in the 1920s. Their elegant silhouette with its prominent boiler and a four-cylinder compound engine kept them at the head of express trains for decades. The manufacturer tells this version from the 18 505 machine precisely by the type of tender, which is stated on the box.
Assemble and paint the frame with the wheelsets and the valve gear first, and close it only then — otherwise you will not reach the inside again. Paint the boiler, the cab and the tender separately. Put the supplied paints on in thin coats; two thin ones hold better than one heavy one, and choose the thinner according to the kind of paints from the box. Tell the sheen apart: a matte boiler, satin cowlings, a darker chimney. At the end a dry brush on the edges and a little fine pigment on the chassis will help.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. With the Model Set edition the basic paints, a brush and glue are, according to the manufacturer, part of the package; other accessories are not.
