A large resin figure from the Italian brand Royal Model showing a German grenadier in a winter field. The 75 mm height leaves room for details that get lost at smaller sizes: buckles, seams, the texture of knitwear and the pattern of camouflage cloth. The brand prepared the sculpted master digitally and casts it in polyurethane resin.
The soldier stands at ease, one hand on his hip and a Kar.98k rifle in the other. The clothing matches winter: layers under a camouflage smock and woolen mittens. The box holds two headgear options, a soft field cap and the M43 steel helmet. The choice between them changes the whole mood of the figure, from a moment of calm to readiness.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the remains of the casting blocks off with a fine saw and level the surfaces with wet sanding paper; protect your airways while sanding resin. Cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) holds the joints. A thin coat of primer will reveal grooves before you start with the shades. At this size both the skin and the camouflage pattern take beautifully to being built up in layers with oil paints.
Paints and glue are not supplied with the figure; buy them separately.
