DSPIAE AT-PB is a bender for photo-etched parts in the large version. According to the manufacturer it has fourteen bending teeth and two clamping bars of different lengths.
Responsibility details are not available.
The bender grips a photo-etched part exactly at the line of the bend and makes it possible to fold it into a sharp, straight edge along its whole length. Without one, thin sheet bends wherever it happens to be weakest and the edge comes out rounded or skewed. This is the larger of the manufacturer's two versions, so it will handle long parts that do not fit into the small bender.
According to the manufacturer it has fourteen bending teeth of various shapes and widths, so the bite can be chosen to suit the particular part, and with them two straight clamping bars of different lengths. The long bar holds the sheet along its whole length on large parts; the short one comes into play where the long one would run into a neighboring bend.
The bender is basic equipment for anyone who regularly builds from photo-etch sets, that is on ships, military subjects and more demanding aircraft sets. For very small parts the small version, which loads more easily, is more suitable.
Try the clamping pressure you need on an offcut of the photo-etch fret left over once the parts have been removed. The material and the thickness are the same, so the feel is set without any risk. Photo-etched parts have very sharp edges, so be careful when working with them.
