The Green Stuff World 1 mm drill bit is a twist drill for a hand drill, intended for small holes in plastic, resin and soft metal.
Responsibility details are not available.
A twist drill from Green Stuff World, one millimeter in diameter. It is built for a pin vise type hand drill, in which it is held in a collet, but it will also serve in a low-speed micro drill. One millimeter is one of the most used sizes in modeling: it matches the usual wire for pinning parts, the diameter of tubing for small-caliber barrels and holes for fixing photo-etched parts. It is a consumable tool, so it pays to keep more than one.
A bit this thin breaks easily, so do not press on it and let it cut at its own pace. In a hand drill, work in short bites and withdraw the bit from time to time, so that the chips clear from the flute. In a micro drill, keep the speed low, otherwise the plastic heats up and builds up on the cutting edge. Start drilling from a dimple made with the point of a needle, otherwise the bit will wander across a smooth surface. Once the hole is drilled, true it up by turning the bit in your hand with the machine switched off.
For modelers who pin parts with wire, for figure painters and for anyone adding metal and photo-etched details to models. It also suits small jobs on dioramas.
The bit has a sharp cutting edge and is brittle. Store it out of the reach of children and protect your eyes while working.
