A publication, not a kit. Volume 81 of the aviation series from the British publisher Warpaint Books, by Kev Darling, is devoted to the Junkers Ju 52. The text is in English and the softcover format is close to A4.
The Ju 52 is one of the most recognizable aircraft of all, because its whole surface is of corrugated duralumin sheet. It started out as a single-engine airliner, but fame came to it with the three-engine Ju 52/3m version, used by Lufthansa and by a number of foreign carriers. In the Spanish Civil War it served as a bomber and as a transport, and in the Second World War it became the main transport aircraft of the Luftwaffe: it carried paratroopers in the operation against Crete and tried to supply encircled formations, most famously at Stalingrad. The soldiers called it Auntie Ju. After the war it continued to be built in Spain and in France and flew with civil carriers as well, so the same outline can also be built in postwar colors.
For modelers who build the Ju 52 in 1:72 or 1:48 scale and want to tell the airliner, military and postwar aircraft apart, and for anyone interested in the airline flying of the 1930s. The extent of the volume is not stated here; the page count differs between the individual titles in the series.
