DSPIAE MSP-ES02 abrasive papers for round heads, 280 grit

Five self-adhesive abrasive papers cut to the shape of the round sanding head of the electric reciprocating sander. The 280 grit is a coarse grain meant for fast removal: it levels thick layers of filler, the remains of casting blocks on resin parts and pronounced unevenness that a finer paper would need incomparably more time for.

What to watch out for

A coarse abrasive leaves distinct scratches in the surface and on a curved face it can sand a trough within a few seconds. Use it only where there is something to remove, and as soon as the unevenness is gone, move on to a finer grade. The scratches from this grit have to be removed by at least two further steps.

How to work with them

• Clean the head before sticking the paper on; it will not hold on dust.
• Work without pressure; the reciprocating movement removes plenty with this grit on its own.
• Mask the surrounding detail with tape, as a coarse grain does not spare it.
• Keep checking how much you have taken off; lost material only comes back as filler.
• Clean the part afterward, as the remaining coarse grain would scratch the finer step.

Who they are for

The refill is for owners of the electric reciprocating sander with round heads who work with filler and resin parts. On a purely plastic build from a modern mold this grit will be used only rarely. The sander and the heads are not included in the package.

Do not breathe in the sanding dust from plastic and resin; work with extraction or at least with a respirator.
