Ninety-six foam discs with a self-adhesive back, five millimeters in diameter. The 400 grit is the coarsest grade in the range and it is the working grain: it levels mold seams, sprue nubs, ridges of filler and the unevenness left by gluing. Combined with the small diameter it reaches even places where coarse abrasion would otherwise have to be done by hand with folded paper.
A coarse grain removes material fast and in a tight place the detail is right next to it. Guide the abrasive along the seam, therefore, not across it, work in short touches and keep looking at how much you have already taken off. A detail that has been sanded through is far harder to restore than the rest of the seam is to sand away.
The refill is for users of the discs in this range and above all for those who sand filler and resin parts in intricate places. It is on that kind of work that a coarse grain is used up fastest.
Store the coarse discs separately from the fine ones. A single grain carried over to the finishing step will make a scratch that you then have to sand out from the beginning again. Do not breathe in the sanding dust from plastic and resin; work with extraction or at least with a respirator.
