A replacement tip three millimeters in diameter for the pen that removes the excess from panel lines, from DSPIAE. An absorbent tip instead of a cotton swab.
Responsibility details are not available.
A consumable for the pen used to wipe off the surplus fluid around panel lines that have been run in. The tip is of an absorbent material, holds the thinner and, against a cotton swab, sheds no fibers. The diameter of three millimeters is the thinner of the two in the range and suits tight places, the roots of raised details and everywhere a wider tip would stray into the neighboring line.
Fit the tip into the pen, dip it in the appropriate thinner and squeeze the surplus out against the rim of the bottle; an oversaturated tip smears more than it wipes. Draw along the line rather than across it, so that the fluid is not pulled out of the engraving. Flush the tip after work and let it dry, otherwise paint hardens inside it and the surface stops absorbing.
Choose the thinner according to the paint underneath the coat, because a strong solvent wipes that off too. The package holds the tip only; the pen itself and thinner are not part of it.
It makes sense to keep tips in reserve in both diameters. They are routinely alternated while running lines in: the wider one wipes the surface, the thinner one cleans up the corners, and swapping them in one pen during work is a delay.
The model and the paints are not included in the package.
You can tell how absorbent a tip is by how fast the thinner disappears on it. When it stays on the surface and runs off, the tip is clogged and it is time to replace it.
