A set of wet (water-slide) decals with technical markings and lettering for models of the early versions of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in 1:72 scale. It contains the small service and maintenance stencils spread over the airframe, which add credibility to the model's surface. It is an add-on decal set, not a model.

The real subject

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was among the most important fighters of the Second World War. The early versions, for example the E series, saw action in the fighting of the late 1930s and at the beginning of the war; they carried technical markings around the service hatches, the fuel fillers and the walkways.

Use

• Apply the decals onto a glossy, smooth varnish for clean edges.
• Dip the piece briefly in lukewarm water and slide it into place; blot off the surplus water.
• Use a decal softener to settle them down into the detail.
• To finish, go over them with a matte or semi-gloss varnish to unify the surface.
