A small but very rewarding cockpit accessory. The ASK brand (the accessory range of the Czech manufacturer Art Scale) offers here 3D-printed decals, the seat belts of the pilot's seat, for models of the de Havilland Mosquito in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory that is applied to a model already built or under construction.
Unlike a classic flat decal, which is only a printed film, these elements have real thickness and three-dimensional relief: they are printed on a decal carrier sheet and come already colored. The result is a belt that casts a shadow on the seat and looks like a piece of fabric with hardware, without your having to paint anything. In 1:72 scale that is a difference you see at once in an open cockpit, as an empty seat is otherwise one of the first things that spoils the impression of an otherwise well-built model.
Apply the elements directly to the seat according to the manufacturer's instructions and handle them carefully. The material is thin and stiff; do not count on being able to bend and fold it freely like a film. Work with tweezers, do not press hard and do any shaping gradually.
A British twin-engine multirole aircraft, one of the most remarkable machines of the Second World War. Its structure was built largely of wood, hence the nickname Wooden Wonder. The Mosquito was at the same time so fast that the early bomber versions flew with no defensive armament at all and relied on fighters simply not being able to keep up. Fighter, night fighter, attack and reconnaissance versions came later.
It is not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package. Before buying, check that the set fits the seat of your particular kit.
