A set of precisely cut self-adhesive painting masks from Clear Prop Models for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter in the E-4 and E-7 versions, in 1:48 scale. The mask is double-sided, so it makes masking the glazing easier from the outside and from the inside and gives clean, sharp edges with no paint creeping under. It is not a kit or a decal sheet.
The masks cover the cockpit glazing (and other areas if needed) while the paint is sprayed, so the canopy frames stay exactly defined and the clear parts stay clean. The double-sided version lets you paint the inner and the outer frame in the corresponding shades, which noticeably raises the realism of the glazed canopy of the Emil.
Degrease the surfaces before sticking the masks on, apply them with dry tweezers and press them carefully against the edges of the frames. Spray the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge of the mask, and take the mask off while the paint is still fresh. We recommend laying down the color of the inner frame first and the outer one once it has dried.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model or paints. The paints and the kit are not included in the package.
