Lifting eyes for heavy German equipment, set A in 1:35 scale from BSK Model. A 3D-printed accessory, not a vehicle model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an add-on set, not a vehicle model. It contains lifting eyes, that is the forged fittings welded to the hull and the turret by which the vehicle was hung from a crane during repairs and when assemblies were changed. On a model they are small but very conspicuous elements, because they sit on the smooth surfaces of the armor and the eye has to be genuinely open. A plastic kit deals with them by a solid molding in which the opening is merely suggested. The printed part has the eye open and the wall as thin as reality demands. The set is designated as version A and covers the Tiger, the Tiger II, the Jagdtiger and the Panther.
Lifting eyes were indispensable on heavy vehicles. The engine, the transmission and the turret all had to be removed during repairs, and the weight of those assemblies ruled out any manual handling. The shape and the number of the eyes differed between individual machines and production batches.
The set is for modelers of German equipment who are finishing off the surfaces of the hull and the turret. The work is small and calls for tweezers, but a less experienced modeler will manage it.
It is not a vehicle model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
