Side skirt brackets and a convoy light for the Tiger II and the Jagdtiger in 1:35 scale from BSK Model. A 3D-printed add-on set.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an add-on set, not a vehicle model. It contains two things that are hard to do in injected plastic on heavy German vehicles. The first are the side skirt brackets, the thin consoles welded to the side of the hull from which the sheet metal skirts protecting the running gear hung. In a mold these consoles necessarily have to be thicker than they really were. The second part is the convoy light, the small shielded lamp at the rear that shone dimly backward so that the vehicle following could keep its distance without being visible from a distance.
The side skirts of heavy vehicles covered the upper part of the running gear and were often lost in the field, so period photographs show both complete sets and empty consoles. That is exactly why this detail is rewarding on a model: empty brackets say more about the vehicle's service than an untouched skirt.
The set is for modelers of heavy German equipment who are finishing off the sides and the rear of the vehicle. The work calls for accurate measuring, but the fitting itself is straightforward.
It is not a vehicle model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
