The photo-etched set 1:700 WWII IJN Brass Stripe from Flyhawk. A set of brass deck strips imitating the metal bands that held the linoleum down on the decks of Japanese ships.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail set in 1:700 scale, that is, an accessory to a kit, not a model in its own right. The set from Flyhawk, in polished brass photo-etch, imitates the metal strips with which the linoleum was held down on the decks of Japanese warships.
Japanese ships had a number of decks covered in linoleum, which was fastened at regular intervals by bright metal strips. It is exactly these narrow bands that give Japanese decks their characteristic look, which smooth plastic lacks. The photo-etched brass strips are glued straight onto the deck and, once the surroundings have been painted, keep a metallic shine that looks very convincing.
First paint the deck and, if you wish, tone it to the shade of linoleum. Separate the narrow strips carefully from the fret, glue them in regular bands with cyanoacrylate and leave the brass in its natural metal shade, or give it only a light patina. It calls for tweezers, a sharp knife and precision.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
