A photo-etched brass set of railings for US Navy warships of the Second World War in 1:700 scale. A fine accessory that gives a deck scale-correct, three-dimensional detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an additional photo-etched set, not a ship model in its own right. The package holds photo-etched brass railings intended for American warships of the Second World War period in 1:700 scale. It replaces coarse plastic railings, or railings missing altogether, and gives a deck the fine, openly three-dimensional look that a plastic molding cannot.
Photo-etched railings are among the basic features of super-detailing ships in a small scale. The parts are bent to a right angle and glued around the edges of the decks, the superstructures and the platforms. The set typically offers railings with several rails, so you can choose the right type for the particular place on the ship.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and bend them with a photo-etch bending tool or two razor blades. Use cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small amount, ideally with the tip of a wire. It is best to spray the railings only once they have been glued in place, so that they hold both color and shape better.
An additional photo-etched set. The base ship kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
