This is an additional photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The package holds photo-etched parts for building and refining the modern weapon systems of US Navy warships in 1:700 scale. It is the first part of a range aimed at modern deck armament.
Modern naval weapons, such as close-in weapon systems, launchers and the fine parts of mounts, are often simplified in plastic. The photo-etched parts replace or complete their delicate features, so that the armament looks three-dimensional and faithful. The set noticeably lifts the level of detail on the deck of a present-day vessel.
Separate the small parts with a scalpel on a hard surface and bend them with tweezers or a photo-etch bending tool. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue in the smallest possible doses. Given the size of the parts, a magnifier and a steady hand come in handy. Paint them with an airbrush once assembled.
