A set of sanding sponges 5 mm thick with a graduated span of grits. A five-millimeter sponge is a compromise between a thin sheet and a thick block: it gives enough to follow a cowling or a rounded cover, and yet keeps its shape under the fingers and does not break an edge. The box gives five grits, 320, 400, 600, 800 and 1000, that is the whole route from the coarse removal of gate remnants to finish-sanding a surface before spraying. The sponges can be cut into smaller pieces and shapes to reach into narrow grooves and up to details.
For modelers who want the whole span of coarsenesses together and not to buy them one at a time. It suits plastic and resin parts and cured putty, that is the ordinary building of kits just as much as the working of resin parts. The manufacturer gives plastic, resin and epoxy as suitable materials.
The manufacturer recommends dry sanding and does not recommend wet sanding with these sponges. Do not inhale the dust from sanding plastic and resin, wipe the working surface as you go and ventilate during longer sanding; with resin a mask is always in order.
