Studio27 Lamborghini Countach LP500S Black Body 1:24 is a sheet of water-slide decals for the Countach model from Tamiya, prepared for a car with a black body. This is not a kit: there are only markings in the package, and you get the model of the car itself separately.
Responsibility details are not available.
Careful: this is not a kit. The package holds a sheet of water-slide decals in 1:24 scale from the Japanese Studio27, no plastic parts and no body. The sheet is intended for finishing the plastic model of the Lamborghini Countach LP500S from Tamiya, which you have to own (or buy) separately. The decals are screen printed, that is with opaque colors, which comes in handy precisely on dark, black paint. The Black Body variant is conceived for a car with a black body.
The Countach is the car which in the 1970s and 1980s defined what a supercar should look like. A wedge-shaped body from the pen of Marcello Gandini, scissor doors opening upward, a V12 in the middle and a cockpit from which you can barely see backwards; the Countach was not practical, but it was iconic. It hung as a poster above the bed of a whole generation. The LP500S version of the first half of the 1980s represents the classic, still relatively clean Countach with a large V12 in the middle. It is precisely on such a car that the small things decide: the badges, the lettering, the labels in the interior. Molded plastic does not have them, and it shows.
A kit gives the shape, but it either only suggests the details in plastic or does not have them at all. And yet it is exactly what a person notices when they bend over a finished model from half a meter away. A decal sheet is the simplest way to move a model on significantly, simpler than photo-etched parts, and even a modeler who does not yet have hundreds of hours behind him can manage it. The difference between a built model and a scaled-down car is made by precisely these small things.
Decals always belong on gloss clear coat. On a matte or semi-matte surface air is caught under the film and the decal starts to silver, which is the most common mistake and on a black body it is the most visible of all. So coat the surface under the markings with gloss, let it cure thoroughly and only then apply them. On the curved areas of the Countach (and it is all edges and slopes) use decal softener, so that the film is drawn to the surface. Once it is dry, go over the whole car with clear coat and polish it with polishing compound, as on a road supercar the depth of the gloss is absolutely essential and the model is meant to look as if it came from a showroom. For the small labels and badges have tweezers, a fine brush and patience ready; some of the decals are really tiny.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model of the car, paints, clear coats, softener and glue are not included in the package.
