Gray Moss 30 g

Preserved lichen, gray, 30 g

A bag of preserved natural lichen in a gray shade; the pack weighs thirty grams. The material stays pliable, does not crumble and needs neither water nor light.

Where you will use a gray shade

Green is not always right. A winter scene, a dry hillside, a rocky slope or the margin of a peat bog need growth that does not look lush. Gray lichen works there as dry shrubbery, as dead twigs after a fire and as vegetation on rock. It also mixes well with green shades, where it reads as the dead part of a bush, and it is exactly such small imperfections that make a scene believable.

How to work with it

• Tear the tufts off with your fingers, as scissors crush the material
• Glue with PVA glue, or with cyanoacrylate glue on smooth surfaces
• In a winter scene add a white dusting from above
• If mixing with green, add the gray in smaller doses
• Small pieces serve as dry undergrowth among stones

Who it is for

For layout builders of all gauges and for diorama modelers, especially of winter and dry scenes. The manufacturer is a German company specializing in scenery accessories, and production takes place in Germany. Safety note: a natural material does not belong in the hands of the smallest children, and you should ventilate the room when working with fine granulate. Keep the remainder in a closed bag out of direct sunlight so that the material keeps its color and pliability. The gray shade combines well with the shades of green in the same line.
