A set of decals for a model of the Porsche 962C in the finish with race number 25 from the 1988 season of the Japanese JSPC series, in 1:24 scale for Hasegawa kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Porsche 962C is a closed sports prototype that was one of the mainstays of Group C racing in the eighties. Besides the European events, cars of this type also ran the Japanese JSPC series, and the individual teams built them in their own colors, so the same body shape appeared in dozens of completely different finishes.
Decals for one particular finish: the car with race number 25 from the 1988 season. The sheets are cut for Hasegawa kits in 1:24 scale, so the shape and the size of the individual elements correspond to the parts of that kit. The body color has to be mixed and sprayed beforehand, and the decals only follow onto it.
The surface under the decal must be smooth and glossy, otherwise air is trapped under the layer and the decal goes dull. Cut the element out as close as possible, soak it and let it rest on the paper for a while, until it begins to slide freely. Carry it to its place together with a little water underneath, straighten it and blot the excess water away with a soft cloth, working from the center toward the edges. Over curved shapes and recesses a decal softener helps, as it softens the layer and draws it down to the surface. Once dry, spray the whole car with varnish so that the edges of the sheet disappear.
For modelers who want to build one particular racing car and are not satisfied with the decals supplied with the kit. The kit, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
