A small thing you notice at once in an open cockpit: the Macchi MC.200 – rudder pedals 1:32 refine the floor of the cockpit of the Italian fighter. The set is intended for the Italeri kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Replacement rudder pedals intended for the large rendering of the Italian fighter. In 1:32 scale the cockpit is roomy enough for a viewer to look inside without a magnifier, and a floor with the coarsely rendered pedals from the box then pulls the whole impression down. Small elements like these decide whether an interior looks convincing. The target kit is Italeri.
The Macchi C.200 Saetta was an Italian single-engine fighter with a radial engine, designed by the team around Mario Castoldi, which first flew in December 1937. It stood out for excellent agility and a sturdy structure, but it lagged behind its contemporaries in speed and armament. It served with the Regia Aeronautica throughout the fighting in the Mediterranean, in North Africa and on the Eastern Front. Early examples had an enclosed canopy that pilots disliked, so the semi-open cockpit came back.
On small parts a heavy coat of paint does not pay off: it hides the detail and the edges then look rounded. Lay the base coat down as thinly as possible, ideally by spraying, and grade the shades with a dry brush. On the real aircraft the treads of the pedals are usually polished back to bare metal, so lightly picking out the edges with silver adds depth to the interior. The work is easier if you hold the small parts on a stick with double-sided tape.
This is not a model of the aircraft, but the detail part on its own, without paints.
