The set is put together as a first purchase for someone beginning with the painting of models. It holds six paints of the Acrysion range with a total volume of sixty milliliters, a brush, two mixing dishes and a spoon for mixing. Acrysion is a water-thinnable acrylic range that came about as a gentler substitute for solvent-borne paints: it smells markedly less and the tools are cleaned after it more easily.
Acrysion is thinned exclusively with its own thinner of the same range. It does not take the thinners meant for the other acrylic ranges of the same manufacturer nor a lacquer thinner; once those are added the paint curdles and stops holding. Lay down thin coats and let each one dry properly, because a fresh coat is easily smeared. Wash the brushes right after the work, while the paint has not dried; dried acrylic comes out of the bristles only mechanically and that ruins the hair. Work in a ventilated room and store the paint out of the reach of children.
For beginning modelers and for everyone who wants to try water-thinnable paints without a large initial outlay. The dishes and the spoon supplied spare a beginner the need to hunt for further odds and ends, and the brush will do for the first coats before the builder acquires a set of his own. The set also suits as a complement to a palette already under way, if you want to try how a water-thinnable paint behaves against a solvent-borne one.
