True Metallic Metal (TMM) is a range of acrylic (water-thinnable) metallic paints from the Spanish firm Vallejo, intended for painting the metal surfaces of figures - armor, swords, helmets, gold and silver - directly with a brush. The metallic pigment produces a realistic metal sheen in the result without your having to master the demanding NMM technique (imitating metal with ordinary paints). The Starter Set is the entry package for beginners: it contains a set of metallic shades, a brush, a practice figure to try things out on and printed instructions (a leaflet), so you have everything needed in one place.

Use

• The paints are acrylic and are thinned with water or an acrylic thinner - they are applied with a brush.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use - the metal pigment settles to the bottom.
• Metallic paints come out best on a smooth, even base (a base color or primer).
• The shades are built for the Base, Shade, Light system to render metal three-dimensionally.
• Paint metal surfaces rather at the end - they are harder to overspray and to mask.
