A plastic kit of the Soviet helicopter cruiser in 1:350 scale from Takom. According to the instructions the model can be built either with the full hull seated on stand supports or as a waterline version. The package includes etched parts and clear parts, which add fine detail to the superstructures and the deck equipment.
Project 1123 was a Soviet anti-submarine cruiser unique of its kind, combining heavy missile armament forward with a large flight deck aft. The ships were designed as the core of anti-submarine groups meant to counter the threat of Western nuclear submarines with ballistic missiles. They carried no conventional aircraft, only helicopters. Two units were built, Moskva and Leningrad, with a characteristically asymmetric silhouette.
Decide in advance whether you are building the full hull or the waterline version, as it affects the assembly of the bottom. Glue the etched railings and the fine parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply the large areas of the deck and the sides with an airbrush, accent the panel lines with a dark wash and finish with light salt and dust effects for a faithful look of naval service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
