Eduard 1:35 German trench scissors telescopes is a set of 3D printed optical instruments for dioramas of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of 3D printed parts from the Brassin line by the Czech maker Eduard. The contents are German trench telescopes from the Second World War, that is scissors instruments with two arms drawn upward on a common joint. The parts come about by direct printing, so they have a smooth surface, sharp edges and carry no casting seams and no flash. This is an accessory to go with a diorama and with models of vehicles, not a model in its own right.
The scissors trench telescope was used by German artillery observers and unit commanders. Two arms spread apart increase the distance between the objectives, which markedly improves the judging of distance, and at the same time they allow observation over the edge of a trench without the observer exposing his head. The instrument was set on a tripod and belonged to the typical equipment of an observation post and of the command post of an armored unit.
Before gluing, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry; a remnant of resin clings to a printed surface. Cut the supports from the printing off with a sharp blade or a fine saw and sand the area. They are glued with cyanoacrylate. When sanding printed resin, protect your breathing. You will imitate the optics with a drop of gloss varnish or a piece of film; a dark base beneath it gives the lens depth.
The set holds printed parts only. Glue, paints and the base model are not part of the package.
