A 3D printed AS-27/ARN-5 antenna for the B-25J Mitchell in 1:48 scale from Art Scale. A fine detail accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D printed AS-27 antenna of the ARN-5 receiver together with a small fuselage part in front of the pilot for the American twin-engine B-25J Mitchell bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but a detail accessory that replaces the coarse plastic version with a fine, sharp part. The manufacturer is Art Scale.
The AS-27 antenna served the ARN-5 glide path receiver, which helped American aircraft on approach and landing in poor visibility. On the B-25J Mitchell bomber it was, along with the surrounding elements of the fuselage, one of the details an injection mold manages only in simplified form. A faithfully made antenna together with the adjacent fuselage part adds accuracy to the nose of the aircraft and is a rewarding detail for photographs of a finished model.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports and clean them up. Glue them with cyanoacrylate; take care over the correct seating of the antenna. Protect your airways when sanding resin. Match the color with the surrounding surfaces of the fuselage.
This is a supplementary detail set, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
