Foliage flakes in a dark green shade for leaves, bushes and the shaded parts of growth on dioramas and model railways.
Responsibility details are not available.
Foliage flakes are a loose scenic material from which leaves come about. The dark green shade has a particular task in a scene: on its own it matches conifers and older deciduous trees, but it pays off most as the lower layer under lighter green. A crown that has a dark base and a lighter top looks lit through by the sun, whereas a crown of one color comes across as a green ball.
On coniferous and deciduous trees, on dense scrub, on ivy in the shade of a wall, on the edge of a wood and on undergrowth the sun does not reach. It finds use equally well with military dioramas, with display case scenes and on a railway layout, because it is tied neither to scale nor to theme. In a pair with a lighter shade you gain the depth a single color will not give.
Coat the armature or the base with white glue thinned with water and a drop of detergent, so that it runs in between the twigs. Scatter the flakes from above in small doses, press them down lightly and once dry shake the surplus off onto paper for further use. Work in two or three thin layers and add the lighter shade only on top, only on the sunlit sides. Fix the finished growth with a light overspray of thin glue from a height, so that the flakes do not lift, and unify the shade with a very thin glaze.
Loose scenic material is supplied. A tree armature, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
