A foliage mat from the German maker HEKI measuring twenty-eight by fourteen centimeters. The covering in the shape of small leaves holds on a carrier net and can be stretched out into an irregular texture. This variant stands at the very beginning of autumn: the base stays green, but the shade breaks toward yellow green, the way foliage looks shortly before it changes color altogether. On a model it is an unobtrusive but useful intermediate step.

How to work with the mat

Tear a piece off, stretch it out into irregular gaps and lay it onto the framework. Fix it with sparing drops of super glue or white glue. This variant tends to be exactly the missing link in the middle, so it proves itself to put it between green trees in the background and markedly colored pieces in the foreground.
