HEKI Flexible Thuja Hedge 12x7 mm, 2 pcs are two fifty-centimeter strips of coniferous hedge.
Responsibility details are not available.
Two strips of model hedge from the German maker HEKI with a profile of twelve by seven millimeters and a length of fifty centimeters. Thuja differs from broadleaf hedges in both color and behavior: it is darker, cooler in shade and, as an evergreen, stays dense even in winter. On a model that means a thuja hedge works in every season, whereas a broadleaf hedge ought to thin out in winter.
The strip is cut with scissors and glued with PVA glue directly onto the base. At a bend, bend it dry first and only then apply the glue. Level the cut end and, if needed, sprinkle granulate over it so the cut is not visible. A dark hedge is very conspicuous on a light base, so do not combine it with grass in too saturated a green right next to it, as the contrast then looks harsh. It helps to lay darker growth at the foot of the hedge.
For builders of layouts and dioramas with housing and for modelers who need an evergreen enclosure. A thuja strip also suits hiding the gap between the layout baseboard and the backdrop, because a dark vertical surface stops the eye. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
