Four finished model trees from the German maker HEKI, eighteen centimeters tall. On an H0 layout eighteen centimeters is the height of a mature tree, so four pieces are enough for a group that really counts in a scene: it shades a building, closes off a view or marks a forest edge. The set does not name a particular species, which is rather an advantage when building growth, because the pieces can be placed anywhere without the viewer wondering what kind of tree it is.
The trees are pushed into a pre-drilled hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. With eighteen-centimeter pieces make the hole deeper and fix the trunk with a drop of glue, otherwise the tree will lean under the weight of the crown. Lay the group out dry first and look at it from the place you view the layout from. Do not set the trees at regular spacing, and tilt them slightly so that the row does not read as a fence. Add grass, bushes or leaf granulate under the crowns.
For layout and diorama builders who need several mature trees at once, and for modelers fine-tuning the surroundings of buildings. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
