HEKI Pines 10 to 16 cm, 9 pcs

Nine finished model conifers from the German maker HEKI, ten to sixteen centimeters tall. A pine differs in shape from a spruce or a fir: it has a high-set, open and often asymmetrical crown on a long bare trunk, so a pine wood is airy and full of light, whereas a spruce wood looks dark and impenetrable. On a model that difference is clearly visible and decides the character of a whole scene.

How to work with the trees

The trees are pushed into pre-drilled holes or glued by the foot of the trunk. In a pine wood leave more room between the trees than with spruces and cover the ground beneath them with needles and dry grass, because pines let light right down to the floor. Keep the spacing irregular and vary the heights. With the tallest pieces make the hole deeper and fix the trunk with a drop of glue.

For builders of layouts and dioramas with coniferous forest and for modelers who want to distinguish a pine stand from a spruce one. Nine pieces are enough for a smaller pine wood and its edge, so a scene can be planted up in one go. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
