One finished birch model from Heki, height 20 cm. The tree is not built or painted; it is simply set in place on the scene. Twenty centimeters is a rewarding middle size among model trees: the tree already has the presence of a mature specimen but it still fits on an ordinary base and under a lower cover.
In 1:87 scale the height corresponds to roughly 17.4 meters, in 1:72 scale to about 14.4 meters and in 1:35 scale to approximately 7 meters. In the same scene, though, a birch behaves differently from a substantial broadleaf: the slender light trunk and the lighter crown take up less room and let you see past them, so the tree will not hide what you have built on the scene.
For builders of dioramas, layouts and gaming boards who want a finished tree without assembling an armature and foliage. It comes into its own by a ruin, by abandoned equipment, at the edge of a field and by water. Remove dust from the crown with a soft brush or with compressed air from a distance; a cloth would tear the growth away. The base, the glue, the paints and scenic scatter are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
