Five trees in a winter version, each 10 cm tall. These are finished scenic accessories from the Heki range: nothing is built or assembled, and after unpacking the trees go straight into a scene. A winter form means crowns without summer foliage, so you can see between the branches and the tree does not read as a solid green mass.
Always judge the height of a tree against the scale of your scene. Ten centimeters corresponds in 1:87 scale to a tree roughly 8.7 meters tall, in 1:72 scale to about 7.2 meters and in 1:35 scale to approximately 3.5 meters. On a railroad layout, then, this is a mature tree by the line or at the edge of a village; on a diorama in a larger scale, more a younger tree used to fill out the background and the edges of a scene.
Do not plant the trees in a regular row or at equal spacing; a group with unequal gaps looks more natural. In soft terrain the trunk is pushed in; in a solid base drill a hole the diameter of the trunk and secure the joint with a drop of glue. Watch that the tree stands upright and that the crowns of neighboring trees do not touch on the same side. Hide the transition from the trunk into the terrain with scatter, static grass or granulate, otherwise it stays obvious that the tree is merely standing on the scene.
For builders of winter dioramas and layouts who need several trees of the same height for one group. The base, the terrain, the scatter, snow material, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
