Two models of Heki deciduous trees in a winter version, height 14 cm. A scenic accessory for winter scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
A winter deciduous tree is above all a silhouette in a scene. Without leaves every branch shows, so the tree looks airy and does not hide what is behind it. The pair in the package is therefore rewarding where continuous growth would close a scene off: two trees by a road, by a building or on a field margin are enough to keep a snow-covered area from being empty.
The trees are 14 cm. In 1:87 scale that corresponds to a height of roughly 12 meters, in 1:72 scale to about 10 meters and in 1:35 scale to just under 5 meters. There is no scale in the name, so convert it for your own scene. Place the trees so that the crowns stand out against a light background or against the sky; in front of a dark backdrop the fine branching is lost. Do not put both pieces at the same distance from the viewer or in one plane.
Snow is not an even blanket. At the foot of a trunk it tends to be thinner and mixed with soil, on the windward side drifts form, and tracks and footprints stay on paths. If you add snow to the branches, use it sparingly and only on the upper sides of the thicker branches. Hold the trees by the trunk, not by the crown, and set them into drilled holes only once the terrain around them is finished. Thin branches are the most vulnerable part of the model and break easily against a hand or the edge of a base.
The package holds two trees 14 cm tall. The base, the snow, the terrain materials, the glue and the paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
